When I was a child I was terrified of thunderstorms and particularlyl tornadoes. I loathed rain by proxy because it generally heralded the coming of one of these. When I was five I was convinced that during a particular storm a tornado was going to destroy our house. I tried to convince everyone that we needed to be in the basement with supplies at the ready, but I was disregarded. My family was going to the living room to watch a movie, but I wouldn't go, so my dad gave me his binoculars, a TV, a bowl of tomato soup, and a grilled cheese sandwich and set me by a window and told me to come tell them when the tornado was coming. Needless to say it never came, and ever since I have enjoyed the rain and all the chaos it brings with it.

I like the rain because it washes the stink off of the valley. I wish all the people Keegan mentioned, would stay in the rain, cuz most of them stink too.

Maybe people like the rain because in regions where there is a lot of farming, it's usually a welcome occurrence?

I've always liked the rain because it reminds me of being a little kid, living at my grandmas house. I have memories of looking out the window in her living room, watching the large drops hit the asphalt, causing a smell that I've only found in the great city of Phoenix. I love that smell, and I loved my grandma's, therefore I love the rain?

There's also a feeling I've only felt in Phoenix, when the rain begins to fall, and the air is still dry, but your body begins to feel wet, causing a minor sensory confusion...I love it.

But that's just my reasoning as to why I love the rain in Phoenix.
